The backstory

A chance encounter prompted us—five content designers from different places in the world—to create a small yet supportive community to help us grow in our careers. After many online chats and a few tryouts, we set out to create a digital space that would allow us to share our experience as people from different walks of life in the tech industry—a place that could use more representation.

Join our conversation to learn why and how we made a podcast and hear our plans to extend our community even further and help more people share their voices.

    Camila Pechous

Camila is a mashup of product and content design. She is skilled at UX strategy, wireframing, rapid research, and UX writing. One of her favorite things about product design is optimizing user experiences globally through clear language.

For the past ten years, they have worked at the intersection of UX, content, and marketing for some of the world's largest tech companies. Laura developed a passion for storytelling early on and received a MA in Cinema Studies in San Francisco, where they worked as a curator for a range of film festivals and cultural institutions around the Bay Area. Outside of work, Laura is committed to mentoring people transitioning into UX and tech, advocating for content, and sharing advice on LinkedIn. They currently live in NYC, were born in Southern Italy, and speak both English and Italian fluently.

When she’s not removing filler words, she’s very likely baking. She doesn't always get things right, but for her it's more about the journey. Okay fine, it's also about the delicious desserts.

  • Susanna is a White woman. She is wearing a white tank and grey sweater. Her hair brown/blonde is tied in a half ponytail.

    Susanna Agababyan

An inexhaustible dreamer and language geek, Susanna worked as an Italian and English language teacher and consecutive interpreter in theaters for years and then in online media, writing news and features about fashion, culture and lifestyle. Until she felt like she hit the ceiling and started looking for a new challenge. Ultimately, she found herself in UX writing and it combines everything she loves: short-form but effective writing, working with languages, strategic thinking, solving problems, collaboration and research. Outside of work Susanna is either boxing, writing novels or planning a new adventurous trip.
